Longhorn fans gathered for a tailgate-style party for the University of Texas at Austin, Texas Exes Houston Chapter Scholarship event. The festivities, held at River Oaks Country Club, included elevated tailgate fare and lots of burnt orange. Chair Ryan Bayer led the evening’s program. Special guest was UT Austin athletics director Chris Del Conte. Legendary UT quarterback Vince Young came by with wife Candice Johnson and paused for some selfies with fans. Erin Phelps, president of Texas Exes Houston Chapter – the largest chapter in the country – addressed the crowd. Scholarship recipient and recent UT graduate Scott Kennedy shared his story.
