This fall, the 2021 Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston Catholic School Chess Tournament was held at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory. Over 100 students in grades K-8 from 15 Catholic schools from across the Archdiocese competed. The St. Vincent de Paul chess team won first place and was awarded the Cardinal DiNardo Chess Championship Traveling Trophy, which will be displayed at SVdP for a year.
