Assistance League of Houston’s annual Books & Brunch fundraiser took place at the Houston Racquet Club. The event featured three local authors – chef Johnny Carrabba, who spoke about his book With Gratitude, Johnny Carrabba, Celebrating 30 Years of Recipes, Stories, and Family; Stacy Edick (writing as Stacy Wilder) presented her recently-published Charleston Conundrum; and Patricia Hunt Holmes spoke about her book Crude Ambition. All books were available for sale and signed by the authors. Jan Carson served as Mistress of Ceremonies. The fundraiser included a silent and live auction; all proceeds benefitted the philanthropic programs of Assistance League of Houston: Operation School Bell, Scholarships Program, Celebration of Giving, and Head Start Readers.
