Having a ball for West U parks
The 30th annual Park Lovers’ Ball brought together more than 400 West University Place neighbors and friends at Hotel ZaZa Houston Museum District. Themed “The Pearl Gala” - a nod to the traditional 30th-anniversary gift - the event raised more than $400,000 for West U parks. Event co-chairs were Kimberly and Dimitri Ang and Kelly and Blake Hill; auction co-chairs were Jordan Jewett and Buckley Morlot; and the underwriting chair was Erin Gaston. Guests were entertained with a whiskey blackjack table, a putting green, wine pull, and an exciting silent auction. Dr. Linda Christians, senior pastor of West U Methodist Church, provided a heartfelt invocation. The event was emceed by Ilona Carson, Emmy Award-winning former anchor and reporter at ABC13, who’s also a West U resident. Guests made their way to the dance floor as Password kept everyone dancing till midnight.
