Event Roundup: What to Look Forward to This Weekend

“Egg-Citing” Easter Weekend At the Kemah Boardwalk
Area residents and visitors are invited to hop along to the Kemah Boardwalk to enjoy Easter family-fun activities! The weekend programming includes a live DJ and band, Easter egg cookie decorating, balloon twisters, a stilt-walker, and a Bunny Hop Easter Egg Hunt (age 8 and under). Participation in the Egg Hunt is $5 per child. All other events are free. The Easter Bunny will also make a special appearance each day to visit with children and snap photos. On Easter Sunday, the Boardwalk will host a non-denominational SonRise Service at 7:30 a.m. followed by live music on the Main Plaza Stage. The events will last from noon – 9 p.m. today, noon – 10 p.m. on Saturday, and 7:30 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Green6.2 and 5k
Celebrate Earth Week on Saturday morning with Houston Running Club’s 12th annual green6.2 race at CityCentre. The 5K and 10K start at 7:30 a.m., and the Kids K/Family Walk (a 1K race) starts at 9:30 a.m. Registration is $20 for Kids K, $40 for 5K, and $50 for 10K. All 5K/10K participants receive a chip-timed race, green6.2 finisher medal, and unisex t-shirt. Kids K participants receive a t-shirt and finisher medal. Join in the fun after the race with food and drink, music, and fun for the whole family!
Blessington Farms Easter EGG-stravaganza
Come enjoy an awesome day at Blessington Farms during Easter Egg–stravaganza this Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Farm Funland includes hayrides, barrel trains, giant slides, animal encounters (chickens, goats, camels), and much more. While at the farm, join a fun Easter egg hunt where children will hunt for 10 eggs with candy and treats. Farm Funland is $20 per person (children under 24 mos. are free). The egg hunt is $3 per child with paid admission to Farm Funland. Bring a picnic lunch.
Easter at the Houston Aquarium
On Saturday, dine on more than just carrots with Peter Cottontail at the Houston Aquarium! Enjoy a delicious breakfast and take pictures with the Easter Bunny. Then on Sunday, celebrate Easter with crafts, photos with the Easter Bunny, and a delicious buffet with over 40 items to choose from. Reservations are required for both events, and the restaurant opens at 11 a.m.
Buckle Bunny Bar Hop with Eureka Heights
Join Eureka Heights Brew Co. the day before Easter for an adult version of an Easter egg hunt... they're just swapping the eggs for kegs. Your goal is to find as many EH brews at various bars along 19th and 20th street. The bar hop will start at Moonshine Deck at 1 p.m., with stops at popular spots like Preslees and McIntyre’s. Each Hopper must take a picture with one of their "hidden" Buckle Bunny cutouts in 6 of the 10 bars, and tag Eureka Heights. All Bunny Hoppers must end at Wicklow Heights and show proof of bunny photos by 6 p.m. for the opportunity at winning a Buckle Bunny Bar Hop T-Shirt.
Love Street Music Fest
Love Street Music Fest is back this Saturday! Mt. Joy, Living Colour, Nané, and Moving Panoramas will rock the Karbach Brewing Co. biergarten, and it will be a show you won't want to miss! Doors open at 3 p.m., so come dance the night away and share a pint. Tickets range from $40-125, and the festival will last until 10 p.m.
Houston Dynamo FC vs. Portland Timbers
The runners-up in last year's MLS Cup Final, the Portland Timbers, arrive to face the Houston Dynamo in a Western Conference showdown this Saturday at 5 p.m. Tickets start at $16 for the game at PNC Stadium.
Road to River Revival Music Fest
Jam to free live music at Market Square Park to count down to Texas’ camping and music festival, River Revival. Brought to you by Splice Records, Saint Arnold Brewing Company, and the Downtown District, dance and sing to regional heavy hitters with a new lineup each month. This Saturday, rock out to the funky beat of Texas guitarist Aaron Stephens and powerhouse soul artist Latasha Lee. ‘Doors’ open at 6:30 pm and live music begins at 7:30 pm.
