Promise Ball Kickoff Dinner

Mike Brin, Pat Wright, Michael Soper, and Aaron Kowalski (pictured, from left) attended the JDRF Southern Texas kickoff dinner, at the home of Amber and Clay Bretches, to celebrate the JDRF Promise Ball. The annual event raises funds for research, advocacy, and access to therapies for people with type 1 diabetes. Amber and Clay, this year’s Promise Ball chairs, welcomed guests into their home to enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and to celebrate the return of an in-person gala. William Hagans, board president of JDRF’s Houston sector, spoke about the gala and thanked guests for their continued support over the past few years while JDRF navigated the pandemic. He then introduced special guest Aaron Kowalski, national president and chief executive officer of JDRF. The Promise Ball took place April 9 at the Hilton Americas Hotel, downtown, and featured a seated dinner, silent and live auctions, and live entertainment by Skyrocket.
