Wedding in Houston, honeymoon in Thailand
After a proposal at the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center, Jonah Jacobsen and Cassandra Watkins (pictured, from left) will marry in June at the Church of St. John the Divine. Jonah created an elaborate story about having dinner with his boss to make sure Cassandra was dressed up. Then, the boss had to “cancel,” and the stage was set for the engagement at the same spot they had enjoyed an earlier date. Jonah, who is originally from Kansas City, and Cassandra, a native Houstonian who attended St. Thomas’ Episcopal School, met at a mutual friend’s birthday party at a tiki bar in 2019. After a successful meeting they went on their first date a couple of days later. The first date started off a little rocky when Jonah mistakenly showed up at the wrong house to pick up Cassandra. Romance led from there, and the couple was excited to celebrate their engagement with their siblings and parents. After the wedding, Jonah and Cassandra will honeymoon in Thailand.
