Together we “ovarcome”
Ovarcome, an organization that raises awareness about ovarian cancer, celebrated its 10th anniversary at a special event, Ovare: Ovations Night at the Royal Sonesta Hotel. Ovarcome founder, president, and chief executive officer Runsi Sen, Dr. Pam Sharma, and Nobel Laureate Dr. James Patrick Allison (pictured, from left) joined guests to honor and benefit women diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Dr. Allison received the gratitude award from the Ovarcomers (aka ovarian cancer survivors), and 10 Ovarcomers were spotlighted with their physicians. The Checkmates band, made up of doctors and scientists at the MD Anderson Cancer Center, was led by Dr. Allison playing many favorite tunes for dancing and celebrating.
