Honoring survivors
Michael Wiesenthal, Carole Fawcett, Michael Fife, Creighton Edwards, Lesha Elsenbrook, Kristina Somerville, Darcie Wells, Rochelle Griffin, Jordan Seff, Kelley Lubanko, Vanessa Ames, Iva Knobbe, Luvi Wheelock, Brooke Lee, and Andrea Espinosa joined more than 400 other guests at CanCare’s survivorship luncheon at the Westin Memorial City. Event chairs Jordan Seff and Kelley Lubanko led the successful event that raised more than $300,000. Emcee and cancer survivor Frank Billingsley of KPRC Channel 2 spoke to the crowd about the importance of CanCare’s significance in the cancer community. Healthcare honoree and speaker Dr. Ishwaria Subbiah, oncologist and palliative care and integrative medicine physician, shared stories about cancer treatment during the pandemic and thanked CanCare for supporting those affected by cancer. The traditional candle-lighting ceremony filled the room with candles as a remembrance for loved ones impacted by cancer, and donors received a bell to ring, symbolizing the end of cancer treatment.
