Girls on the Run

A wet morning did not stop a group of determined third-, fourth-, and fifth-grade girls who were competing in a Girls on the Run 5K race at the end of their season. Girls on the Run is a non-profit that is focused on more than running – the girls meet in small teams and are trained by volunteers to build confidence and other skills through lessons and physical movement. They were up bright and early to run in cold temperatures and rain and they did it all with smiles. Everyone cheering them on was proud of these girls for supporting each other and grateful for their coaches, Julie Knapp, Jennifer Whalen, Fabi Mirza, and Cecilia Elizondo.
