Raj Salhotra (pictured, left) proposed to Ekta Bery (pictured, right) on the rooftop of the Glenn Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, where Ekta grew up and works as a pediatric neurologist. The couple met in 2021 after Raj's mom Poonam Salhotra met Ekta’s aunt Anuja Mehta through a local book club during the pandemic. The two ladies got to talking and decided to set up the two singles. Ekta and Raj hit it off and dated long-distance for 16 months. Raj proposed during a November trip to Atlanta after organizing a series of dates at their favorite spots. His parents Poonam and Atul Salhotra and sister Pooja Salhotra, along with Ekta's brother Amit Bery, flew in for a surprise celebration. The icing on the cake was the Astros bringing home the World Series win on the same night.
