Karen Baker, Sandra ShenkirMehrnaz GillClarissa GonzalezVictoria Villarreal, and Grace Gosnell are new members of the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation’s executive committee. Karen is the new co-chair of the Ladies for Literacy Guild grant committee, and Sandra is the new president elect. The foundation recently announced the 2023 executive committees, including Stick Delaup, president of Ladies for Literacy Guild, and Caitlin Rance, chair of the Young Professionals Group. More than 400 volunteers belong to the two auxiliary groups and work to support the foundation’s literacy efforts. The Ladies for Literacy Guild coordinates the annual community book drive, the Power of Literacy luncheon, and the Curiosity Cruiser. The Young Professionals Group hosts the holiday Tacky Sweater party and book drive, the Storybook gala, and installs “Barbara’s Book Boxes” in public spaces.
