Supporting Houston's children
The Charity Guild of Catholic Women recently awarded $657,500 to 56 nonprofit organizations in Greater Houston. The grant recipients (pictured) represent organizations that benefit children, and the funding will help them provide support including food, housing, clothing, and recreation services to families in the community. Ladies in the Charity Guild run the beloved consignment shop to raise funds, and recently celebrated the 100th anniversary of the organization. After a thorough application process, organizations were selected for their potential to have a significant community impact. The members of the children’s charities committee are Mary Lynn Murphy, Jan Sheehy, Laurie Farris, Aileen Reilly, Kathy Archer, Joey Mann, Jane Howerton, Claire Rabalais, Marsha Wilson, and Cathy McDonnell.
