All Access Art Market: Railway Heights (Plants & Nature) Theme
Check out the best of local art and culture at the All Access Art Market at Railways Heights on Friday from 6 to 10 p.m. Since 2016, the rustic 2-story venue has been a safe space for artists to show and sell their work, connecting art-lovers from around Houston to emerging artists. Browse the art and explore Railways Heights’ variety of dining and shopping options, including a biergarten, family park, dog park bar, and more. Tickets can be reserved for free here.
Astros vs. Angels
The Houston Astros face off against the Los Angeles Angels this weekend at Minute Maid. Catch games 2 and 3 Friday 7:10 p.m. and Saturday 3:10 p.m.
Party on the Patio Concert Series: Moondance Jazz
On Friday, West U residents are invited to enjoy a free concert, featuring Moondance Jazz. The City of West University Place is hosting this event, the first of four outdoor concerts this summer, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Colonial Park Pool Deck. Pack your own snack or purchase tasty treats from Jami’s Fine Foods onsite. Don’t forget to bring your lawn chair or blanket and friends for a fun-filled night of music!
Classic Albums Live & Houston Symphony Perform Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band
Classic Albums Live is partnering with the Houston Symphony to recreate the 1967 Beatles album “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” live on stage at the Miller Outdoor Theatre. This performance is on Friday at 8:30 p.m. and is free to attend!
Kemah Boardwalk Summer Kickoff Fireworks
Start your summer off with a bang on Friday night at the Kemah Boardwalk fireworks display. Before the fireworks at 9:30 p.m., the amusement park kicks off the evening with live music in the plaza, where the Logan Soileau Band will perform from 6 to 10 p.m. Attend these free events or purchase $40 tickets to climb aboard the Boardwalk Beast Fireworks Cruise at 9 p.m. and enjoy the fireworks from the water. Go Bananas!
Celebrate the world’s most popular tropical fruit, bananas, at the Houston Botanic Garden on Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children and students. All general admission tickets provide access to the Garden where guests will find offerings on bananas, banana and plantain cooking demonstrations and tastings, a kid’s zone, and farmer’s market. Special events that require additional registration and payment include a pop-up dinner and wine pairing on Friday at 6 p.m. and brunch on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
2nd Annual World Series of Corn Hole Tournament Fundraiser
Bring your best cornhole skills to Little Woodrow's in Midtown Saturday to support the Combined Arms charity. The 2nd Annual World Series of Cornhole Tournament is open to all skill levels, so grab your significant other, best friend, or even your mom to form a team. Pairs and free agents (21+) can sign up here to compete for a championship prize. All registrations donate $5 to Combined Arms.
Bank of America Screen on the Green: Turning Red
Head out to Discovery Green to enjoy Disney’s family-friendly film Turning Red. This event will take place outdoors at the Anheuser Busch Stage. The movie runs from 7 to 8:45pm on Saturday. Admission is free, pets are allowed, and blankets are encouraged!
34th Annual Accordion Kings and Queens
Come down to the Miller Outdoor Theatre for a celebration of music featuring a variety of Texas accordion music genres, produced by Texas Folklife. This performance will feature several top bands including the Alex Meixner Band, Cedric Watson & Bijou Creole, Grupo Imagen, and more! This event is happening on Saturday, 7 p.m., and is free to attend!
Houston Dash vs. Orlando Pride
Spend your Saturday night watching soccer, as the Houston Dash play the Orlando Pride 7:30 p.m. at Shell Energy Stadium. Find tickets here.
Pride Market
Kick off Pride month at this market party extravaganza hosted by PRIDE Houston. This event will feature DJs, food trucks, performances, several vendors, and more! It will be held at the Karbach Brewing company, but all ages are welcomed and it is sure to be fun for everyone! This party is on Sunday from 11a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are free and can be reserved here.
