Lili Rubin and Dennis Langlois (pictured, from left in the geyser valley in the Atacama Desert) had a once-in-a-lifetime adventure traveling to Chile. Although they had both recovered from injuries, one injured hockey knee and one leg injury while skiing, the pair hiked 6 to 10 miles each day, sometimes at a 14,000-foot elevation, during their two-week trip to the Patagonia region and Atacama Desert in Chile. Each day brought something new, from a hot-springs oasis in the desert one day to a field of icebergs the next. Getting home was its own adventure, as they trekked on foot with their luggage while trying to navigate around an immigration strike on the way to the airport.
