Luncheon co-chairs Brian Caress and Jessica Strehlow and host committee chairs Vicky and Michael Richker helped welcome 750 supporters and guests to the Holocaust Museum Houston’s 2023 Guardian of the Human Spirit luncheon honoring Rhona and Bruce Caress. This year’s luncheon, co-chaired by Mandy and Ronnie Caress and Denise and Steve Estrin, raised $710,000 to support the museum’s general operating funds and educational programming. Native Houstonian and nine-time Emmy Award-winning director and executive producer Thomas Schlamme gave the keynote address. Rhona and Bruce Caress were given the 2023 Guardian of the Human Spirit Award in recognition of their work to help others and to better humankind. The Caresses have been active supporters of the museum since its inception in 1996, including chairing the Silver Jubilee anniversary celebration, serving as host committee members for awards luncheons and dinners, and Bruce served as board advisor from 2014-2020.
