Their big, fat Greek wedding
Parents of the groom Andras Bognar and Claudia Padilla-Bognar, groom William Bognar, bride Jessica Zamer, and parents of the bride Sam and Joyce Zamer (pictured, from left) celebrated after the wedding ceremony at Panagia Ekatontapiliani, the second oldest church in the world. Greece was the natural choice for the Greek Orthodox couple who wanted to marry in an historical church and selected the site built during the Byzantine Empire. More than 100 Houston-area friends and family traveled to the Greek island of Paros for the ceremony in Parikia, a quaint town of 4,500 residents. In addition to wedding guests, the couple brought a team of local Houston professionals to handle the details. Jessica Garza of Simply Beauty styled hair for the wedding party, and makeup artists Ona DeShazo and Mika Moody added the finishing touches to the bride. DJ Matt Murdock kept the guests on their feet during the reception. The bride and groom met in 2011 through mutual friends from Bellaire High School. After developing a friendship, Jessica and William began dating in 2018.
