Mabel, age 10

Hello! My name is Mabel, although my boy Jackson had planned on naming me Cupcake. When I arrived from Dachshund Rescue of Houston, they’d already named me, and soon my new family agreed: I was a Mabel. I am a real lady and the most loving member of this family. I like to be in the middle of everything. If something is happening, I am always there, nose first, to make sure I approve. If I do approve, licking commences, as that is the way I show affection. My favorite place to be is under a blanket snuggled up right next to one of my family members. I will bug them wherever they sit until I am burrowed and totally covered. I’m not a kibble girl – my dinners are boiled chicken and green beans (French style). That’s how I maintain my figure. I may sound a bit spoiled, but I’m not, really. I’m just the most important dog.
