Starstuff and Orphans: The origin of Neverland
From January 22-24, the spotlight stage of Bellaire High School shone brightly as the Red Bird Production team enthralled audiences with their lively rendition of Peter and the Starcatcher. This theatrical gem served as a prequel to J. M. Barrie's beloved classic, Peter Pan. The talented duo of Flynn Collins and Talia Schwartz, both students at Bellaire High, took on the lead roles, bringing Boy (Peter) and Molly Aster to life with charm and charisma.
The play, expertly written by Rick Elice and inspired by the novel Peter and the Starcatchers penned by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, injected a fresh and humorous perspective into the timeless tale. Throughout the three-day production, attendees were treated to a dynamic blend of comical moments, including an unforgettable rap battle between pirates Bill Slank (Rachel Carillo) and Black Stache (Brian Smith), and heart-racing sequences as Peter and his friends navigated thrilling chases.
