Along the way, they will face challenges and obstacles, and other times receive rewards. At each station, participants will learn everyday things they can do to help protect monarchs on their long journey. The event will culminate with a celebration including food, sweet treats, crafts, games, and info on how to make your backyard a wonderful home for monarchs. March for Monarchs is also an opportunity to see the monarch butterfly and 19 other steel-and-stained-glass sculptures included in Alex Heveri’s Glass in Flight, which is on display in the Susan Garver Family Discovery Garden, where the “backyard celebration” takes place. March for Monarchs takes place Saturday, 10 a.m.-1 p.m. and is $20 (including general admission, the “backyard celebration,” and a take-home plant).
