Mutton bustin’ at NRG
Kindergartener Landon Campbell (pictured, center, with parents Robyn and Chris) lived his dream of becoming a real cowboy at this year’s Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. His love of cowboy life was born on a family friend’s ranch in Bellville where the five-year-old enjoys feeding the horses, checking the chicken coop, and riding the big tractor. Landon’s parents took him to a previous year’s rodeo where he first saw mutton bustin,’ and he was determined to one day ride like the big kids. This year, he was selected for mutton bustin’ on the big stage at NRG in front of a crowd of 75,000 people. Decked out in cowboy boots and a big belt buckle, Landon held tight to the sheep while the announcer told the crowd, “Landon Campbell from Bellaire, Texas wants to grow up to be a cowboy football player!”
