Yankees in full swing
Rummel Creek Elementary student Robert Ryan (pictured, with neighbor Sydney Valentine) enjoyed his weekly Challenger Yankees baseball game. Challenger provides an opportunity for children with special needs, ages 5 through 22, or the final year of high school (whichever comes first), to play baseball. The Yankees are coached by parents Jared Grodin, Drew Scoggins, and Sam Stafford. Assisted by local high school baseball players, each game consists of two innings, ensuring every player bats twice, with no scores or outs tallied. The season was comprised of six games held on Sunday afternoons. For more information, visit westull.org/challenger.
