A great Tri
Mira Su Whaley, a rising fifth grader at West University Elementary School, lined up with hundreds of fellow racers at 6 in the morning to check off a goal she has long been preparing for. She raced for her fourth time in the Houston Texans Kids Triathlon presented by Texas Children’s. Mira’s fans cheered her on as she crossed the finish line of the annual race, which just completed its 11th year. The race took place at the Typhoon Texas Waterpark in Katy. The triathlon consisted of swimming, biking, and running, with different courses based on age and ability. Mira Su says she enjoys racing in the triathlons for “the excitement and the festivities.” West U Elementary has a triathlon team that practices together throughout the year under the management of coach Amanda Jehn. Congratulations to Mira and the entire team on crossing the finish line.
