The Astros Foundation Hurricane Collection Drive

Collection Sites: Constellation Field and Minute Maid Park
The Houston Astros and the Astros Foundation in partnership with Cotton are hosting a hurricane collection drive today. Items needed include generators, extension cords, gloves, water, non-perishable food, diapers, cleaning supplies, pet food, batteries, and more. The Garden Club of Houston's 82nd Bulb and Plant Mart

The Garden Club of Houston's Bulb and Plant Mart offers a variety of bulbs from around the US and beyond, including Amaryllis, Anemones, Crocuses, Daffodils, Freesias, Hyacinths, Irises, Ranunculi, and varieties of Tulips and Watsonias. Special exhibits will include the live butterfly tent from The Museum of Natural Science Cockrell Butterfly Center. Proceeds from the Bulb and Plant Mart are used for the purposes of stimulating the interest in and knowledge of gardening and enhancing the beauty of our community.
Bayou City Art Festival

The three-day Bayou City Art Festival features more than 250 diverse artists offering original works, live entertainment, food trucks, a craft beer and wine garden, an Active Imagination Zone, and more.

Children's Museum Houston

Children's Museum Houston transforms into the BOOseum Oct. 12-31. The museum offers a ton of spirited Halloween fun, including trick-or-treating every day, slime-making, DJ dance parties, and a whole host of Halloween-themed activities and events. This weekend, special events include a monster dance party, a pumpkin carving workshop, DIY face painting, DIY Halloween masks, a bug petting zoo, and tons more creepy, crawly fun.
Houston Pets Alive!'s Barktoberfest

The fourth annual Barktoberfest presented by Pacifico will be a day of fun for the whole family, including our four-legged friends. The events include a Celebrity-Judged Dog Costume Contest, food trucks and spooky cocktails, a vendor market (including pet-related and non-pet-related goodies), photo opps, and more. All proceeds from the event go directly to Houston Pets Alive! to support the nonprofit's mission of rescuing at-risk cats and dogs and finding them loving homes.
ANAHUAC: A Paradise Between Waters Produced by Institute of Hispanic Culture

The DANMAR Academy of Performing Arts, a nonprofit organization, presents their original production, “ANAHUAC: A Paradise Between Waters” in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month at Miller Outdoor Theatre. “ANAHUAC” transports us to the pre-Hispanic Valley of Mexico, where the term Anahuac referred to “earth surrounded by water” and symbolized the universe in the Nahuatl language. This original production transforms an entire country before your eyes, transcending the boundaries of space and time. Experience a vibrant journey through spectacular dance and music, showcasing the emblems of Mexico’s eight regions.
Love Street Music Fest 2024

Karbach Brewing Co.
Free; donations encouraged
In response to the recent devastation caused by hurricanes along the East and Gulf coasts, Karbach has transformed this year’s Love Street Music Fest into a free benefit concert. In lieu of purchasing tickets to attend, Karbach will be encouraging donations on-site to support hurricane relief efforts across the country. The lineup includes St. Paul & the Broken Bones, featuring Night Cap and more.
