Dance under the stars at the holiday-themed Silent Night Disco in Market Square Park. Put on a pair of glowing headphones and choose from multiple DJ-curated playlists featuring holiday classics, upbeat hits, and wintery vibes, with the holiday lights as the backdrop. Dress in festive attire and enjoy a night of dancing and holiday cheer. Headphones provided.
Space City Sound Presents Winter Solstice: An A Cappella Holiday Concert

Space City Sound, a spirited all-voices nonprofit a cappella barbershop chorus, presents Winter Solstice: An a cappella holiday concert. Learn more about Space City Sound in Nothing Tops Barbershop in our Dec. 2024 issue. The local a cappella group placed 10th in the world in July during the Barbershop Harmony Society’s (BHS) International Barbershop Chorus Competition in Cleveland, Ohio.

Polar Palooza: Chills, Thrills, and Winter Skills at Children's Museum Houston, Dec. 21-Jan. 8, includes the opportunity to play in real snow and celebrate the magic of the season. Special events include a Frozen-inspired singalong this Saturday, Snow Days (every day Dec. 21-Jan. 4, except Dec. 25, Dec. 30, and 31), and A Seuss-Tacular Winter Wonderland this Sun., Dec. 22.
Snow Flurry at HMNS

HMNS will be transformed into a winter wonderland with 110,000 pounds of snow. Celebrate the first day of winter in style at Snow Flurry, including sweet treats, live entertainment, a live DJ, and more. Bring your mittens.
Concert Against Cancer Fundraiser

Benefiting The Broach Foundation, the Concert Against Cancer was founded in memory of Tom Bres, who passed away from glioblastoma in 2015. His daughter, Meg, founded Concert Against Cancer to raise awareness and funding for The Broach Foundation (as told in Buzz article Concert for a Cause, Dec. 2023). The concert will mark its 10th year.
Santa Hustle Kids Dash, 5K, and Half Marathon

Beach Central in Galveston
Spread some holiday cheer by participating in the Santa Hustle, benefiting the Galveston County Food Bank. The event kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with the Kids Dash, followed by the Half Marathon at 8:00 a.m. and the 5K at 8:15 a.m. Participants are given a long sleeve “ugly sweater” shirt, a Santa Hustle embroidered beanie, and finisher medal by Santa himself to commemorate their participation in the event. Event participants can either walk or run, and will encounter cookies and candy stations at the end of course as they cross the finish line. The top three male and female finishers in each age group and overall will receive a Santa Hustle medal and a customized Santa Hustle mug.
