More than just a book club
A group of women gather monthly for a book club focused on spiritual and theological readings to study their Christian Orthodox faith. During this past holiday season, the ladies devoted their time to serving the community by supporting SEARCH Homeless Services and Eyes on Me, an organization that provides mentorship for at-risk youth. They created 120 care packages with snacks and hygiene products and collected clothing to distribute to the homeless community in downtown Houston and collected food donations for the Eyes on Me food pantry. Pictured are book club members (top row, from left) Helen Solomos, Toula Tolias, Georgia Butta, Dr. Sofia Simotas, Chrysi Polydoros, Maria Varcados; (bottom row, from left) Stacy Kirages, Ellie Malavis, Katie Constantatos, and Polina Kyriakides; not pictured: Leah Magee.
