Sister gymnasts
Sisters Harper and Hollis Henderson (fourth and second grade at Wilchester Elementary School, respectively), compete in the Women’s Development Program through USA Gymnastics. They recently excelled at their respective state championships. The program requires all gymnasts at each level nationwide to perform identical routines on vault, bars, beam, and floor. Hollis (pictured, on left), a Level 3 gymnast with Discover Gymnastics, competed at the South State Championship in Corpus Christi. She won her age division with an impressive 38.825 all-around score. Hollis also took gold on bars (9.800), beam (9.575), and floor (9.725), and tied for third on vault (9.725). Harper (pictured, on right), a Level 4 gymnast, showcased her skills at the State Championship in Allen. She received first place in her age division with a 37.925 all-around score. Harper won the beam (9.575) and tied for first on floor (9.450). She tied for fifth on vault (9.225) and placed fifth on bars (9.675).
