Event Roundup: What to Look Forward to This Weekend

Happy Friday! This weekend includes classical music under the night sky, the anniversary of the historic moon landing, and more.  

Join the Houston Symphony at Miller Outdoor Theatre for the 2025 Summer Symphony Nights, July 11-12 and July 18-19.

Take the family to take in a beautiful orchestra under the stars with the Summer Symphony Nights. There will be different music played on each day with highlights including Beethoven, Dvořák and Tchaikovsky.

Summer Species Weed Walks

Enjoy the ecosystem around us with this educational walk at Buffalo Bayou led by Nancy Greig, former director of the Cockrell Butterfly Center. Learn about the native species that live in Houston and how they live together with this fun way to get outside. 

H-Town Night: Houston Dynamo against Philadelphia Union

The Houston Dynamo are set to take on the Philadelphia Union at the Shell Energy Stadium. The night will include an action-packed match as well as a performance from Houston’s very own rapper Mike Jones. Head to the stadium early to enjoy a Pre-match Car Show at 4 p.m. at HQ Lot at 413 Bastrop Street, and take a look at the Dynamo x Free Walls: H-Town Collection murals at the team store.

Commemorate the Moon Landing at Space Center Houston

This Sunday will mark the 56th anniversary of the historic Apollo 11 moon landing. Head to Space Center Houston to watch a screening of The Moonwalkers: A Journey with Tom Hanks. The showing is included with general admission, and there are multiple showtimes throughout the day. Chill out at Children's Museum Houston with a celebration of all things icy, including ice cream and Frozen characters.

Fans can also witness a special appearance from a transforming robot and the high-flyers of Hot Wheels Monster Trucks Live Freestyle Motocross Team.
