Working for a cure

The Nancy Owens Breast Cancer Foundation’s annual Luncheon and Auction will be held on Monday, Oct. 27 at the Hilton Americas-Downtown. Named for inspirational cancer survivor Nancy Owens, the foundation raises funds to support breast cancer research. This year’s luncheon features guest speaker Matt Iseman, a comedian, actor, cancer survivor, and charismatic host of American Ninja Warrior. Foundation members have been actively involved in learning about how the funds are used for cancer research. This year, members met with research teams from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, the Lester and Sue Smith Breast Center at Baylor College of Medicine, and the Houston Methodist Research Institute’s Department of Nanomedicine.
