Duck Derby

The inaugural Duck Derby, hosted by the We Are Evergreen Committee and Bellaire Parks, Recreation & Facilities Department, brought neighbors together at Evergreen Pool for a fun activity. Residents “adopted” rubber duckies to race down the lanes at Evergreen Pool in a fundraising event for Evergreen Park and Pool. The flock of rubber ducks made their way through the pool while the Bellaire Police Department watched for wayward ducklings that strayed off course. Some wild ducks received citations for Excessive Speed in a Waddle Zone and Reckless Quacking in a Crowd. In addition to the race, some guests participated in the Duck Pluck where they jumped into the pool to search for their own adopted duck for a chance to win a gift basket of pool toys and gift cards.
