Greetings from Torino

Julian Fertitta, Regina Rogers, Joanne King Herring, Devinder Bhatia, Nancy Valobra, Gina Bhatia, and Franco Valobra supported the Italian Cultural & Community Center at the Saluti da Torino luncheon at River Oaks Country Club. The sold-out event welcomed 300 guests for an afternoon of Italian-inspired celebration to provide scholarships for college and masters-level study abroad programs. Event chairs Cheryl Arolfo Byington and Franelle Rogers and honorary chair Rosanette Cullen led the festivities that raised more than $205,000 and honored Franco Valobra. Performers Miguel Delabarca and Maria Daniela kicked off the event by singing two Italian songs and then turned things over to master of ceremonies, KPRC2’s Owen Conflenti and Mauro Lorenzini, Consul General of Italy. Guests viewed fall fashions from Elizabeth Anthony during the fashion show, played a game of True or False with questions about Italy, and placed bids at the silent auction.
