Gus, age 6

Greetings, neighbors! My name is Gus. I also answer to Gus the Bus and The Governor. I’ve never encountered a pedestrian who didn’t want to give me a pet, and I’m famous for hitting the brakes and doing a sploot mid-walk so I can properly greet everyone on the trails (hence the nickname The Governor). I love balls – tennis balls, lacrosse balls, and especially baseballs. My family throws the balls for me, but I don’t actually retrieve them. Instead, I hide them in my favorite bush. Because of this, my people claim that I am technically just a Golden and not a Golden Retriever, but I think my approach to the game is a more creative way to play fetch. In addition to my ability to charm the pants off perfect strangers, another talent of mine is eating. My taste buds are super charged, and I never get full. Hope to see you out and about!
