Wherefore art thou, Romeo?

Grace Gosnell, Victoria Villarreal, Caitlin Rance, Avery Edwards, Sloane Andrews and Lisa and Mark Jakel were among the 300 black tie-clad supporters at the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation Young Professionals Group’s 2025 Storybook Gala. This year’s event, Romeo and Juliet, was held at Union Station at Daikin Park and honored Stephanie and Frank Tsuru. Led by event chairs Gosnell, Rance, and Villarreal, the gala raised more than $200,000 for childhood literacy initiatives. Union Station was transformed for an evening right out of a storybook with a Verona balcony backdrop and Romeo and Juliet walk-around characters greeting guests. Monica “Mo” Lunsford from The Rod Ryan Show on 94.5 The Buzz emceed the event, and auctioneer George Lindsey led the crowd during the live auction. After the auction, supporters packed the dance floor and then enjoyed late-night bites of mini corn dogs, popcorn, and cookies.
