13th Annual Community Immunity Spring Luncheon

The 13th Annual Community Immunity Spring Luncheon benefitting The Immunization Partnership (TIP) takes place Weds., April 6, 2022, 11:30 a.m. at The Junior League of Houston. Chairs are Catherine Mitchell and Kay Tittle, MS, RN, FACHE.

Honorees:  

Jason V. Terk, MD, of Keller, Texas, with the Ralph D. Feigin, MD Award for Excellence, given in recognition of his unwavering commitment to children’s health and vaccines in Texas. 

H-E-B will be honored with the John R. Boettiger, Jr. Award for Community Partnership for its leadership in the vaccine landscape and its continued support of TIP’s mission. 

Venus Ginés, MA, CHWI, with the Community Immunization Champion Award for her vital role in educating and engaging underserved Latino communities through her nationally recognized organization, Día de la Mujer Latina (DML). She led efforts to reduce COVID-19 misinformation in the Latino community by providing webinar trainings for Community Health Workers and other community members prior to and throughout the pandemic.

Keynote Speaker: Brendan Borrell, PhD, Los Angeles-based journalist and author who grew up in Texas. Through his compelling new book The First Shots: The Epic Rivalries and Heroic Science Behind the Race to the Coronavirus Vaccines, Dr. Borrell will offer a behind the scenes look into the journey toward a Covid-19 vaccine.

All proceeds benefit The Immunization Partnership's programs that advance immunizations and increase immunization rates.
