AFA's Bayou City Duck Race
Join East River and AFA (American Festival for the Arts) for the 7th Annual Bayou City Duck Race, a family-friendly fundraiser supporting music education for Houston’s youth. Spectators can watch 5,000 rubber ducks race to the finish along Buffalo Bayou, with prizes for the first 10 finishers and additional “Lucky Ducks” selected at random, including $2,500 cash, Raising Cane’s for a year, gift card packs, and more.
Duck adoptions are $5 each, with proceeds supporting AFA’s Play It Forward Fund that helps ensure access to life-changing music experiences for Houston’s young musicians. Attendance not required to win as AFA will contact winners.
Located nearby in East End, AFA is a Houston-based nonprofit enriching lives through music education by fostering creativity, inclusion, and access for all. Since 1993, AFA has empowered thousands of young musicians through nurturing programs, innovative collaborations, and financial support, breaking down barriers to ensure everyone—regardless of background or identity—can experience the transformative power of music.
