Art in the Park 2024

 

Head to Midtown Park Plaza, located at the corner of McGowen and Main Street, for the free Midtown Art in the Park festival. This urban-style fine art festival celebrates National Jazz Appreciation Month and pays homage to the legendary Maestro Duke Ellington. With a diverse lineup of local artists, art classes, selfie stations, and culinary arts, this one-day event is a wonderful opportunity for the whole family to enjoy.
This free event offers visitors the opportunity to purchase art, participate in free ArtJams (art classes), see public art installations, listen to music, and gather with family and friends in a welcoming environment. Entertainment and activities include:

  • Over 30 art vendors
  • Food trucks and dessert vendors
  • Free face painting for kids
  • Selfie stations, art cars and art installations
  • Live DJ Mavs spinning your favorite tunes and tributes to Maestro Duke Ellington
  • Hustlers Brass Band playing upbeat New Orleans-style sounds
  • An interactive ArtJams area with art activities the entire family can enjoy
  • A game zone, including favorites such as UNO, dominoes, and Jenga
  • A coloring book station featuring Midtown and jazz favorites
  • Chalk displays along the sidewalks to view as artists complete the art
