The Art Tent

The Art Tent aims to create a space for people experiencing homelessness to express themselves through visual art and promotes mutuality over service. The art is merely a medium of bridge building. The program recognizes that those who might participate are not normally able to hold a conversation or meaningfully interact with people who are experiencing homelessness. It recognizes that all people have hopes and dreams, experience a range of human emotions, and need wholeness in their lives. Participants are asked to setup before hand, check-in, greet, hand out water, respond to needs of artists, make art alongside artists, clean up, and debrief.
