AVDA’s (Aid to Victims of Domestic Abuse) annual fundraising event is a unique and tremendously fun evening with proceeds benefiting AVDA’s mission to end family abuse. Now in its 14th year, the 2019 Home Safe Home Gala, chaired by Meredith and Ben Marshall, will feature some of Houston’s top chefs and their culinary creations expertly paired with wines selected by the event sommelier team of Sean Beck, Antonio Gianolo, Cat Nguyen and David Keck, plus an auction.
Participating chefs are Lyle Bento, 1751 Sea and Bar; Ryan Bouillet, A Fare Extraordinaire; Joe Cervantez, Brennan’s; Giancarlo Ferrara, Amalfi Ristorante Italiano and Bar; Maria Gonzalez, The Classic; Elliott Kelley, Café Annie; Rany Lachaine, Riel; Dominick Lee, Poitín; Kevin Naderi, Roost; Peter Petro, Bosscat Kitchen and Libations; Russel Roegels, Roegels Barbeque Co.; Jeff Taylor, Steak 48; Dustin Teague, Relish; Tessa Trace, Houston Cookie Crew, and Danny Trace, Potente.
During the event, the Joseph D. Jamail Award for Justice will be presented to Judge Ruby Kless Sondock. Karen and Buster Freedman will receive AVDA’s Heart of Houston Award for their “exemplary service to Houston and its citizens through philanthropy and volunteerism.”
