TXU Energy Presents Zoo Lights

As the Zoo transforms into a nighttime holiday spectacular, visitors will journey through vibrant realms like the Enchanted Forest, marvel at the shimmering Iridescent Immersion, and sip rich hot chocolate by cozy s’mores stations under a canopy of lights. Santa returns to his workshop through Dec. 23, and new features like Wild Wonder Lights and the Neon Playground promise surprises around every corner.
New for 2025:
Guests will begin their adventure in Wild Wonder Lights, an immersive light display using projection mapping to transform the front plaza into a portal of animated enchantment. Children can explore the Neon Playground bursting with color, while adults unwind at the Yuletide Lodge pop-up bar, surrounded by shimmering scenery and seasonal cheer.

LED Lights Help Wildlife
The Houston Zoo saves wildlife by using energy-saving LED lights, which consume 85% less power than incandescent bulbs. Guests can help by recycling old or broken holiday lights at the Zoo. To date, the Zoo has recycled more than 26,000 pounds of lights—equal to the weight of two adult Asian elephants!
