Birdies Fore Blues

Birdies Fore Blues, a fundraising effort that brings together Memorial Villages families with Memorial High School golf and baseball stars to directly support the Memorial Villages Police Department, will take place March 9, 2023 at Houston Oaks. Tournament format will be a 4-man scramble made up of teams that include 2 players designated by each chairman or team sponsor, a high school golf or baseball star and a police officer. One hundred percent of the proceeds go directly to Memorial Villages Police Foundation to benefit police and their families.

Birdies Fore Blues has raised more than $330,000 for the Memorial Villages Police Foundation. These funds have been used to improve the lives and well-being of our MVPD officers, dispatchers and their families. Memorial Villages Police Officer Nick Harwood’s son, Forrest, was born in late 2021 without properly functioning kidneys and requires daily dialysis and a future transplant. Since last year, Forrest has been doing very well. He receives dialysis at home and is gaining weight and strength as he prepares for the transplant. Funds from Birdies Fore Blues underwrote much of the Harwood Family’s medical expenses and deductibles thus far.
