Collaborations Concert RESCHEDULED!
RESCHEDULED! AFA and Brazos Bookstore present a Collaborations Concert of new music and literature! Based on the theme “Sounds, and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not” from Shakespeare’s The Tempest, AFA and Brazos paired two local authors with two AFA composers to create short works inspired by one another.
The two authors are Gulf Coast editor Christopher Brean Murray, and Brazos Bookstore’s events coordinator Benjamin Rybeck; the two composers are AFA Founder J. Todd Frazier, and AFA alum Hugh Lobel. The Collaborations Concert includes several thematic works performed by a brass quintet and will feature all four artists premiering their original pieces, with each narrative reading followed directly by a musical performance based on the narratives.
Open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
