Compassionate Houston’s Annual Spring Luncheon
Compassionate Houston’s Called to Compassionate Action begins with their Annual Spring Luncheon Fundraiser featuring Melanie Lawson, KTRK ABC 13 News anchor and three-time Emmy-winning reporter. The 2019 Spring Luncheon will host a panel discussion and launch this year’s programs and service projects. The event will be on March 29, 2019 at The Briar Club.
Compassionate Houston is dedicated to fostering the city’s compassionate culture. Lawson will moderate a panel of three Houston visionaries who, upon seeing a need, were called to compassionate action, and founded nonprofits that make a difference for our city:
- Barbara Bronstein, Second Servings: Food surplus operation bringing prepared and perishable foods from food businesses to charities whose clients face food scarcity.
- Brandi Brown, Hype Freedom School, Inc.: Reading enrichment program that co-sponsors with churches and community organizations for children at risk.
- Gloria Medina Zenteno, Barrior Dogs: School and community outreach organization focused on the root causes that create neglected, stray and pregnant dogs.
