David Harris Presents: An Evening of Original Jazz Benefiting ReelAbilities Houston

David Harris

"David Harris Presents: An Evening of Original Jazz Benefiting ReelAbilities Houston" takes place Sept. 7 at MATCH.

A roster of A-list local jazz musicians and vocalists are set to join pianist and composer David Harris for a night of musical excellence on Sept. 7, 2023 as part of David Harris Presents: An Evening of Original Jazz Benefiting ReelAbilities Houston. Beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Midtown Arts & Theater Center Houston (MATCH), the program will feature performances of original songs from Harris, including songs from his new album, “You Loved Me Then.”

Audience members will be delighted with special appearances by jazz musicians David Caceres, David Craig, David Navarro, Kelly Dean, Paul English and Tim Solook. Vocalists Laura Jane Jones, Cantor Vadim Tunitsky, Sashi Nisankarao and Dee Dee Dochen will enchant guests with their vocal prowess.

Harris’ musical program is a nod to ReelMusic, the final-night celebratory concert of the ReelAbilities Houston Film & Arts Festival. The Festival is an annual multi-day showcase of film, art, speaker and music events that features the talents of creatives with disabilities and amplifies powerful messages of disability inclusion, equity and understanding. The event is produced by the JFS Houston Alexander Institute for Inclusion in collaboration with the Houston Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities. Details about the 11th annual Festival will be released later this fall.
