Earth Day Bash at the Children's Museum
Reduce! Reuse! Recycle! Spring into action and celebrate the wonders of the world during our Earth Day Bash. Discover ways to make a difference, and practice protecting the planet we call home.
Special events include:
- Canstruction Houston, Inc.: Abel Design Group and Booker T. Washington High School will demonstrate how to build a CanSculpture; benefiting the Houston Food Bank.
- Texas Wildlife Association: What can we learn about some native Texas mammals by examing their skins and skulls? Participate in this hands-on activity.
- Environmental Protection Agency: What does the environment look like for YOU in the future? Learn how to protect our planet during this interactive demo.
- Science ACES: Learn about the symbiotic relationship between bees and plants with this fun physical challenge!
- Trees for Houston: Take home free tree seedlings to plant in your backyard and receive tree cartons to decorate. (While supplies last)
- Puppet Show: Enjoy an interactive puppet show presented by the Houston Puppetry Guild!
Ongoing activities include:
- Plantable Seed Paper: Make a piece of paper out of recycled newspaper and use it to grow flowers in your own backyard at EcoStation!
- Community Art: Paint a strip of repurposed cardboard to display in the Art Academythis summer!
- Reduce Reuse Recycle: Play this game and learn how you can you help the environment at EcoStation.
- Earth Day Fans: Create a wonderful work of art out of recycled materials at Junktion.
- Recycled Newspaper Flowers: Create beautiful flowers crowns out of newspaper atJunktion.
- Speak for the Trees: Create a unique work of art at Junktion.
