Celebrate Earth Day with a green-focused, educational, and fun day at Children's Museum Houston.

Activities and events include: 

  • Tree Sapling Giveaway donated by Trees for Houston: Celebrate Earth Day by planting a tree of your own at the Live Tree Giveaway by Trees for Houston, where you can take home a tree to help grow a greener, healthier community! When: From 9 am until supplies last at the Museum Entrance
  • Seed Starters: Get your hands messy as you craft your own little wildflower seed bomb to help brighten up the world with nature’s beauty! When: From 10 am to 2 pm in EcoStation
  • Recycled Bracelets: Learn how to make a meaningful accessory using repurposed materials that support sustainability! When: From 10 am to 2 pm in EcoStation
  • Clay Pots and Tissue Paper Flowers by KidCreate Studios: Craft colorful clay pots and vibrant tissue paper flowers with KidCreate Studios in celebration of Earth Day! When: At Noon, 12:45, 1:30 & 2:15 pm in Maker Lab. 30 minute sessions. Limit 10 per workshop ages 4+. Sign up outside Maker Lab one hour before each workshop.
  • Ant Talks: Join Scott Solomon, a biosciences professor at Rice University, for fascinating ant talks and explore the microscopic world of fungus-farming ants where you’ll learn about the unique relationship between ants and fungi—an ancient agricultural practice that dates back 66 million years! When: 11 am & 1 pm in Brown Auditorium
  • Wooden Planter Boxes: Build your own unique planter box, perfect for growing plants and cultivating your green thumbs! When: All Day in Maker Annex.
