E.S.S.I: Empower, Stand, Serve and Impact
We are making our community a better place by uniting individuals, businesses, and organizations to combat human trafficking. The annual E.S.S.I. event is to Empower people to embrace a worthy cause, encourage them to Stand for their belief in that cause, Serve through various avenues and resources, and positively Impact the community in so doing.
Human Trafficking is a crime that exploits the vulnerable in our society for the profit of traffickers. Victims are children, men, and women. This year’s event will help raise awareness about sex and labor trafficking in Houston, and educate on how each of us can help stop the trafficking. All proceeds will go to UAHT (United Against Human Trafficking), a 501(c)(3) organization, whose mission is to end human trafficking through awareness, education, and outreach.
United Against Human Trafficking (UAHT) is the lead organization of a dedicated coalition of Houston-area non-profits, faith-based organizations, government agencies/entities and others. The mission of UAHT is to end human trafficking through awareness, education, and outreach. We aspire for all people to experience freedom and to live beyond bondage to others. We envision a world that is intolerant of buyers and sellers of human beings. The agency was established in 2005 and acquired 501(c)3 status in 2007. “United” embodies one of the main tenants of the organization – that it will take everyone, united together to bring a true end to human trafficking.
