Fractured

Archway Gallery presents “Fractured,” a photographic adventure with 400-year-old glass, featuring new work by Bellaire artist Larry Garmezy, on view October 5-31, 2024.

Meet the artist and hear an artist talk at the opening reception on October 5, 2024, from 5-8 p.m., with an artist talk at 6:30 p.m. Garmezy’s sixth solo photography exhibition at Archway Gallery explores visual distortion using antique hand-blown glass. This project began over 10 years ago in the Netherlands, capturing images through 17th-century windows. Garmezy continued this exploration in Houston with “restoration” glass, deconstructing various subjects. This show reflects on the “fractured” world we live in and the challenge of seeing it clearly.
