George Hermann's 178th Birthday

Join the Conservancy as we celebrate the 178th birthday of our Park’s namesake, George Hermann! Born on August 6, 1843, it was George Hermann's original gift of land to the City of Houston that eventually became Hermann Park!

In honor of his 178th birthday, children 12 and under can ride the Hermann Park Railroad for just $1.78 (normally $3.75 per ticket) between 10 am and 12 pm. Visitors of all ages can enjoy $1.78 food specials at Ginger Kale and at Gelu Italian Ice.

And since no birthday party is complete without cake, come enjoy complimentary birthday cake, face painting, and arts and crafts while supplies last!
