George Hermann's 179th Birthday
Join Hermann Park Conservancy to celebrate the 179th birthday of our park's namesake, George Hermann! Born on August 6, 1843, it was George Hermann's original gift of land to the City of Houston that eventually became Hermann Park!
In honor of his 179th birthday, children 12 and under can ride the Hermann Park Railroad for just $1.79 (normally $3.75 per ticket) between 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Visitors of all ages can also enjoy $1.79 food specials at Ginger Kale, and free frozen treats at Gelu Italian Ice.
And since no birthday party is complete without cake, come enjoy complimentary birthday cake, face painting, and arts and crafts while supplies last!
