Green Mountain Energy Ice at Discovery Green 2022
Houstonians are invited to embrace the holiday magic and skate under the glittering lights of downtown Houston, Fri., Nov. 11-Sun., Jan. 29, 2023.
Kicking off the winter season and opening of Green Mountain Energy Ice, Chilling at Frostival with Big Walls, Big Dreams will be on Friday, Nov. 11, from 6-10 p.m. The annual winter festival will feature a live mural painting by Big Walls, Big Dreams, Cirque Mythos circus performances, Reverend Butter’s live ice carving, art cars, and music by Break Free.
Throughout the season, Green Mountain Energy Ice will host themed events each evening including Skate with Santa, DJ Nights, and more.
Back by popular demand, Special Needs Skate Night grants free entry to those with special needs. The rink will be closed to the public to create a safe environment for attendees. Special Needs Skate Night is on Sunday, January 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. Non-motorized wheelchairs are always allowed on the ice. An adult must accompany the wheelchair user.
New this year, College Nights offers students with college IDs a $2 discount on tickets. Discounts are also available during Clutch City Wednesdays to those wearing sports gear from Houston teams and Cheap Skate Nights on select Mondays.
Tickets are $17 + tax, skate rental is included. All ticket sales go to support Discovery Green Conservancy, a nonprofit that maintains the park and provides free cultural programming.
